Camera structures inside smartphone hardware board & How it works?

Camera structures inside smartphone hardware board

Almost all smartphones come with a Front-facing and Rear-shooting camera.
A smartphone comprises up of three main parts:
The sensor which detects light
The lens the component in which light comes through & the image processor

How it works actually?

1 -The user or smartphone focuses the lens
2 -Light enters the lens
3 -The aperture determines the amount of light that reaches the sensor
4 -The shutter determines how long the sensor is exposed to light
5 -The sensor captures the image
6 -The camera’s hardware processes and records the image

The megapixels on the smartphone are still an important part of the camera, it carries less importance than it did a while back. Instead, the primary limiting factor is the camera sensor of the phone and how sensitive it is when light passes through the lens.

Each sensor behaves very differently in a different smartphone, so every single image or video that you capture will be a variation of contrast, color accuracy, saturation and several others compared to a different handset. Most camera apps have manual settings so you can capture an image or video based on your own settings, but most devices don’t have such an extended list of controls.

Since smartphones have small sensor sizes, they tend to perform badly in low-light areas. This is an area where camera sensor manufacturers have worked incessantly to improve considerably, but they have a long road ahead of them it appears.

How focusing works?

A mechanism that restricts how much light passes through the lens and into the camera itself in order to control what’s called depth of field, or the area of the plane that appears in focus. The more your aperture is closed in, the more of your shot will be in focus, and the more open it is, less of your total image will be in focus.

wikipedia
Wide open apertures are in photography because they allow you to take photos with a awesome blurry background, highlighting your subject while narrow apertures are great for things like macro photography, landscapes, portraits etc.

The ƒ-stop is a ratio of the focal length divided by the aperture opening. For example, a lens with a 50mm focal length and an opening of 10mm will be listed as ƒ/5. This number tells us a very important piece of information: how much light is making it to the sensor.

The police of Maharashtra are issuing warnings to 'admins' of WhatsApp Groups  that they should ensure that no objectionable content is circulated on the group. Admins or administrators are the ones who control, who can be part of a WhatsApp chatting group. Multiple persons can be admins for one group that you know.

They have issued a letter to all police stations, asking them to summon WhatsApp group admins in their areas in person, and tell them that they should avoid such content in the group. Parbhani Sub Divisional Police Officer Sanjay Pardeshi told over phone today.

"We are asking group admins to monitor the content the members post," as they said. Posts on WhatsApp groups should not have any derogatory content text, audio or pictures & video clips about iconic or historical figures, places of worship, anything that may hurt religious sentiments, or anything promoting sedition or social disharmony, says the letter sent by the authorities to police stations in the district.

If any admin finds such a post on the group, it should be reported to police, Pardeshi said. District Superintendent of Police Dilip Zalke told that police took this step after incidents of defamatory content going viral through WhatsApp were reported recently. Even to forward such a content is a crime, he said.

How does Auto focus or focus works in DSLR camera

How does Auto focus or focus works in DSLR camera

Image result for Auto focus
reikanfocal.com
Focusing means concentrating on single object in an image and blurring remaining area. The autofocus (AF) systems in our DSLRs camera on a daily basis, they are one of the most important aspects of our cameras.
Basically there are 2 types of focusing systems,

1 -Phase Detection AF
2 -Contrast Detection AF & Dual Pixel AF

www.exclusivearchitecture.com

1 -Phase Detection AF

The most common type of AF in DSLRs today is Phase Detection AF. Phase detection is achieved by dividing the incoming light into pairs of images and comparing them by its mechanics & electrically.

If an image in out of focus then the two images will not line up, & based on how far off they are, the camera knows which way to focus the lens to achieve that perfect sharp focus with its artificial intelligence. But hopefully you get the idea. Check out this how it works through below given diagram.

2 -Contrast Detection AF

Contrast Detection AF is another common AF system found in DSLRs like Canon and Nikon DSLRs. When they are in live view or video mode Contrast Detection is its primary form of AF.
Auto Focus systems measures the contrast difference between pixels on the sensor, which naturally increases with perfect focus. The problem with this kind of AF is that it does not involve any actual measurements and in bad lighting conditions it can be thrown off,  this all leads to contrast detection AF systems being much slower than phase detection AF systems.

3 -Dual Pixel CMOS AF

In a Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, two photo-diodes are distributed to each micro-lens. With Dual Pixel CMOS AF, signals from these two images are used to carry out phase-difference detection AF. In addition, by combining two photo-diodes, the image signal can be output as one pixel. This is mostly used in Canon EOS 70D digital SLR, Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED etc.

geforce.com

GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit. It is a processor controls solely to graphics processing operations or “floating point” calculations. Its main function is to lighten the load on the CPU i.e. (Central Processing Unit), specially when running graphics applications like High End games FPS or 3D graphics apps.

The GPU does not differ too much from a CPU, but  its construction is much more optimized towards the efficient calculation of graphical information. Therefore, if you were to ask your GPU to perform anything other than graphical tasks, it would suddenly become an ineffective.A GPU normally has multiple cores, each doted with L1 and sometimes L2 cache. A GPU chip is capable of both integer and floating point execution.

For example, consider a High ends FPS 3d game, in this GPU case, it will be responsible for creating graphics, textures and colors within the game, while the CPU does not run the graphics, & it can use its resources for artificial intelligence or calculations of the playing games mechanics.
