Android
OS is under constant attack and older versions are actually more vulnerable
than new ones. Here are my best ways to keep your mind & your Android
device safe from attackers. Many of these are pretty simple, but security is
really more about doing safe things every time.
1-
Only buy smartphones from vendors who release Android patches quickly.
Like
Google pixel, Motorola, MI, Samsung etc.
2-
Lock your phone.
The
best way to lock your phone is the old PIN method that remains the safest way.
Fingerprints, patterns locks, voice-recognition, etc. they're all more
breakable than PIN lock.
3-
Use two-factor authentication.
When
you are securing your phone, just lock down your Google services as well. The
best way of doing this is with Google's own two-factor authentication. Just
Login-in to your Google account and head to the two-step verification settings
page.
4-
Only use apps from the Google Play Store.
5-
Use device encryption.
To
encrypt your device, go to Settings > Security > Encrypt Device and
follow the prompts.
6-
Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
This
is very important when you are using local wi-fi in coffe shop, or on the road,
Actually everyone wants free wifi & we all do. To make yourself safer
you'll want to use a mobile Virtual Private Network (VPN). The best of these
are - F-Secure Freedome VPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, NordVPN, Private Internet
Access.
7-
Password management system.
Don’t
use the same password for everything, which is really brainless. Write it down
your passwords on a piece paper & keep it in your safe place at home don’t carry
them anywhere. Use them only when you forgot it.
8-
No need of any anti-virus software.
If
you don’t use any app delete it instantly or make it uninstall.
9-
Make your Wi-fi & Hotspot connections off when not in use.
